The aim of this study is to determine the importance of a therapeutic nursing approache in order to reduce or eleminate of patients anxiety and fear which increase prior ECT. This research which is an experimental and comparison was carried out at Psychiatric Clinic of Medical Faculty of İstanbul University, by studying on 30 psychotic patients. In conclusion, the state c ınxiety of the experimental group who received a th ı-epeutic nursing approache was found significantly decreasing than the control group (p<0.001).

Bu çalışmanın amacı, EKT öncesi hastada artan korku ve anksiyeteyi giderme ya da azaltmada terapötik hemşirelik yaklaşımın önemini saptamaktır. Deneysel ve karşı laştırmalı olan bu araştırma İstanbul Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Psikiyatri Kliniğinde 30 psikotik hasta üzerinde gerçekle ştirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, terapötik hemşirelik yaklaşımı olan deney grubunda kontrol grubuna göre durumluluk anksiyetesinde anlamlı bir azalma olmuştur (p<0.001).
