Cognitive dysfunction is a central feature of schizophrenia. Patients with schizophrenia typically demonstrate abnormalities in attention, memory and executive function. This article focused on cognitive dysfunction in schizophrenia, and reviewed relationship between cognitive impairment and its neuropathological mechanisms, elinical variables, medication status, diagnostic subtype, and its impact on long-term outcome.

Bilişsel işlevlerde bozulma şizofreninin temel özelliklerinden biridir. Bu hastalarda özellikle dikkat, hafıza ve icra işlevlerinde bozulma gözlenmektedir. Bu yazıda şizofrenide bilişsel işlevlerde bozulma üzerinde durularak; nöropatolojik temelleri, klinik değişkenler ve alt tiplerle olan ilişkisi ile hastalığın seyrine olan etkisi gözden geçirilmiştir.
